Demand exists throughout Southeastern Michigan for custom-crafted residences and Professional Master Builders are creating homes of distinction at prices designed to grab attention.
Floor plans reflect what today’s buyers want—larger kitchens for family gatherings, bigger closets, ample storage space and more bathrooms. Listening to consumers pays off, which is why many new properties offer greater ceiling heights, walk-in showers with multiple heads, three car garages, and outdoor entertainment spaces with fireplaces and grills.
Many Building Industry Association members are certified participants in the federal Energy Star® program promoting energy-efficient construction, technology and appliances. New homes in this area typically meet or exceed government standards to assure utility savings for decades from reduced heating, cooling, water use and appliance operation costs.
“Green building” is another development driven by consumer interest. Builders increasingly embrace traditions such as locating a home to take full advantage of sunlight and shade, as well as using modern innovations such as solar singles, light-conserving window glass and recycled insulation materials.
Around the region right now, prices and transaction details are more flexible than during active construction eras. Stone work surfaces, stainless steel appliances and finished basements may be included, for instance. Some buyers qualify for eliminated closing costs or a half-year of mortgage payments covered by the builder. Others received rent-free lodging while awaiting a home's completion.
